 Job Description:

PRIME TIME FAMILY READING TIME is a nationally recognized and implemented humanities-based family literacy program of the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities.

PRIME TIME is looking for a full-time team member to fill the role of Project Coordinator who will work at the Mahalia Jackson Early Childhood Learning Center in Central City, New Orleans.  He/she will primarily coordinate and manage all PRIME TIME-related activities at the Mahalia Jackson Center/Central City and will report directly to the PRIME TIME Director and/or LEH Executive Director.  This position, paid for by a grant from the Early Childhood and Family Learning Foundation (ECFLF), will also require a monthly report to the ECFLF contact person.  Specifically, the position will entail community organizing, engagement, and program implementation.  PRIME TIME Project Coordinator’s time will be dedicated to projects at the Mahalia Jackson Center as well as with participating childcares and schools in Central City.

Additionally, the position will entail coordination with the statewide and national PRIME TIME operation.  The Program Coordinator will also act as on-site liaison for other partner agencies invited to do arts/humanities-related programming.  As this position evolves, the PRIME TIME Project Coordinator will work with the ECFLF Music Coordinator.  Both positions will be responsible for co-chairing the Mahalia Jackson Arts & Humanities committee and both will assist with arts programs development.

Two years of parallel work experience required.  BA or BS required, MA preferred.  The LEH is an EEO employer.

 Organizational Profile:

The Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities is a Louisiana non-profit organization dedicated to providing educational opportunities to all Louisianans.
